"Give the World a Smile"

I just finished listening to "Give the World a Smile" by Legacy Five.   This wouldn't be my favorite CD, but it was pretty good.  The best songs were "Boundless Love," "We Shall See Jesus," "Give the World a Smile," and "I've Read the Back of the Book."  You can order this CD here.  (Unfortunately I couldn't find it on Amazon)

Last Flight Out

A lot of the “Christian” films that are being put out today are filled with things that Christian’s should not see or hear. When we sit down to watch them, we’re being blasted with swear words (aka “mild language”), revealing outfits, and things that should never be part of a Christian’s life.


Thankfully, Last Flight Out, is not one of these videos. There were no swear words, the actors were dressed decently, and the video taught some good lessons, like “there is no better place to be, than in the center of God’s will.”

In the movie, a man named Dan, flies down to the mission field of his former girlfriend (Ann), and tries to persuade her to come home. The village had become a place of terror for the villagers, since evil terrorist’s had kidnapped the men of the village, and came to the village everyday to try to intimidate the people with guns. (They wanted to enslave the villagers, and make them grow their crops.) The terrorists also planted land mines, and bombed the Church, which caused the death of two villagers. (This happened before Dan came to the island, and we didn’t see this.) Dan tried to persuade Ann to leave but she refused to leave without all the villagers. So Dan had to get everyone off the island. But that meant overloading the plane, and he didn’t believe that they’d ever get off the ground.

Three people got shot in the film - Ann, a village girl, and a missionary pilot named Mateo. Ann and the village girl recovered, but Mateo died in Dan’s arms, minutes after getting shot in the back, by the terrorists. Mateo was a Christian, though, and it was clear that he knew he was going “home” to Heaven.

Dan got saved near the end of the film and he and Ann’s father, Tony, decided to stay and help the village.

This film was made by “World Wide Pictures,” a division of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. It’s an awesome movie with enough action to hold your attention, but teaching good lessons at the same time. It’s well worth your time. Visit www.billygraham.org, or email BGEA at: help@BGEA.org.

"Once Upon a Cross" Review

I bought this CD, by the Mark Trammell Trio, on Amazon, a while back, and really liked it.  The group sounds really good, while their music doesn't get too rocky.  I used to hear "Even Thomas Couldn't Doubt It" on one of our Southern Gospel radio stations, and now I can listen to the whole album.
    This would be a good addition to any Southern Gospel lover's collection. This is probably one of my favorite groups (along with Legacy Five, Greater Vision, and the Kingdom Heirs)
    My favorite songs in this album were "Even Thomas Couldn't Doubt It," "Won't It Be Wonderful There," and "Moving the Hand of God."
